Alternate quote of the day

29 Aug 2007

Hi All well another update in stardate xxxxx

Hi blog readers , seagulls and very hungry ones to start

Been a busy week for Mr Pimms

Out to the US of A for a week just before the big day

Seen a few friends who I have not seen for a few years as we went for vendor A in the last company , it was all about money not about the Aircraft as thats what talks in big numbers and believe me it was BIG numbers when you buy over a hundred at millions each. I will not publish but you could ask in person for a fee!!!

Well what did Mr Blenders have in Seattle this time?

New yorker Steak , yum yum and about 16oz with it, all protein so ok with that on the lets get heavier whilst in the UK

Must eat more pulses and less fatty stuffs as not much more to go , well for Mr Blenders at least , Mrs Pimms is on a report with the cruel Mr Gym man when she gets back!!!

Meanwhile , what goes on in life as we know it!

Well managed to get a free pass for this place whilst walking past on the other side of the street, honest we did?

I think someone I know would like one as he has been before

No names as he knows who he is???

Just never try to claim on exes , as you never know who might take advantage of the situation!!

Sorry @@@@@

Seattle is a really nice place , loads of fantastic eateries, good people and a really good trip for anyone to take, top of my list of what cities in the world wide wish list everyone whould visit

You can even see the fish throwing if you want to on Pike street market but will let you imagine that one till you visit

Blogging update

Hi its Mr B again for the update on India's 60th

Was nice to see all the kids putting on a show at the complex to celebrate the start of their countries 60th year of independence.

We all celebrated the day before with veggie food for lunch and a best T shirt day at work, a couple of prizes given out by the HR department to people from the office, yep you are being blogged people!

There was even another gorra, who didn't make it to being first in line on the free food.
I didn't get there first for a change this time!
A least it meant no breakfast bar and bananas for lunch today
I wonder how heavy I am now?

Ah , the Police story
Can you guess why I had to visit the police Station on Sunday by these two piccies?

Of course you can, can't you?
Well its so obvious that I would get the car towed from outside the railway station where they was no notices about parking , everyone knows that, don't they?
I think India might have a way to go yet?

The picture with the parking sign above it cost me 10rps, car was parked by the attendant and only 500 metres away from the other picture.
We were visiting an excellent market but we all got very moist due to the heat and humidity

The picture without any parking signs cost me 830rps
600rps for the challan
200rps for the tow
30rps for the rickshaw ride
And its not claimable on expenses!

All I can say is that it was a good job the driver was there, or I would of been a bit lost as to where the car was and how to retrieve it?
As I have not mastered Hindi and the Police not mastered English it was very funny showing them my international driving licence to record on the form for the challan ( fine)
But heh dad the police know all about you now, address, age, what you had for tea and inside leg measurment. Just avoid the taylors when you visit Indian forms are very strange but you do have it in Hindi and English
Needless to say they took the money
Never mind as its all part of the adventure and "asda price or cheap as chips" as they say in Goa

Last, a little bit of meanwhile
I think this was the french embassy before they moved to more palacial rooms in the Embassy Enclave

feel free to enlarge the piccie by clicking on it , its worth it but e-mail/speak to Denis C first for the excellent french accent as he has used it in the past in Seattle. Another "lifes like that" tale to tell

Mr Royal Challenge as no blenders left this week

13 Aug 2007

Yippee its monday

Hi Blogger readers

Mr B here once again now that the visitors have gone back to join the real world, 250rps a night rooms, with running water ( hot at 0715 for 1 minute only) so they told me .
Luxury

Still they enjoyed their moist days in Delhi , albet short it was.
There is always a next time in the Gurgaon Hotel

We all managed to catch the easy recruits on thier long way to Luton
Lots of orange walking/running people on their pilgramage with
water from the ganges on thier shoulders.

Outside the closed red fort with this one , closed as its India's Birthday this week.
Independence celebrates 60 years of home rule, will Scotland ever get that far?
Mufty day in the office tomorrow so jeans and T Shirts , wild, national or just whacky for the day.

Meanwhile Ben celebrates with a decent glass of Royal Challenge
A well earned cold beer and is waiting for it to be not quite so decent, he just had to keep filling it up with more cold beer.
Ok its a man thing or can you tell by the smile??
Well Mrs P is away at the moment so its allowed

Mr B managed to have two days at
the pain giver and must be working
as another 1lb has vanished
somewhere? It's not the two and a
half pack following all the sit ups yet
but he does feel good and you can
see just how he was a wee while back.

Well at least he wont be asking "does my bum look big in this" at the wedding!

Meanwhile
Managed to catch our little chewi , he's been destroying the
kitchen door trying to get in or was it out , was very surprised
we had one on the sixth floor. He was a little upset denting the cage as it rattled around the balcony
He's got his freedom now, away from the gorras and only has to worry about the buzzards circling overhead!
That just leaves the gecko's to make friends with the cockroaches.

Its now official Mr B has become an Indian, got into Humayun's Tomb as a resident of India by showing my visa, 10 rps to get in instead of the 250 rps for the tourists. The guard just smiled
Will let you know why I decided to use the non tourist rates later , but for now all I can say is it involved a short rickshaw ride to the Police Station on a Sunday Lunchtime form a station in Delhi.
Only have to visit x more old relics to get my monies back.

Well Namaste for now

Leakage

Hi blogger readers Mr Blenders here

Well today managed ot find one tourist attraction that everyone should visit on a trip to Delhi??
An excermental visit and a really good movement had by all.
Effluential, non toxic, human waste treatment methods on display for all to see free of cost in Delhi.

As the bottom right says , it tastes like olives!!
Mr Blender is not eating olives any more!!
All schoolboy humour to be shown around a place full of

An International Museum , actually they do a fantastic job in converting many people to saving the planet and I was very impressed by their work, a very worthy visit

Its amazing what you can do with it , power lights , cooking, feeding fish and watering your veggies.
Some by natural gas , yes that' right natural!!
Some by liquid form, by treating the water and pouring it on your tomatoes, yuck!
I think I will always have two tomato plants, one for me and one for ...........
You have to leave it for 3 to 20 years ( depands on the size of the hole you dig ) and use it as fertilizer, now who wants some more potatoes with thier tomatoes ?
Unfortunately you do need to dig a few holes in the ground and wait a few years for the desired effect,

Was thinking of digging a couple of the 20 year pits and leaving my will in the bottom of one of them
I couldn't say which one , a bit like find the sixpence in the christmas pudding.

Someone ex easy poeple might know this person on the throne?
Ben is now designing one for his house in Luton.
Well if you have to go then do it in style

Mr Blender was shy and closed the door to the VIDP toilet
Very Important D? toilet , need some help as have not thought of the word yet for D but I am sure you can ? Nothing rude of course as I am very posh now and never repeat words like that

Followed this with a look around for a decent barber but got a little confused when we read the 3 signs in a market in Delhi .
Classic, but at least they tried.
Remember you can click and enlarge the piccies

Following morning
Just waiting for the guests to wake up having had a few last night in a jazz club in Gurgaon
Well, having been on the road for many months, Mr Marking and myself had to let them see the other side of India that we have to suffer from.
5 star treatment, great music , jacobs creek evaporating far too quickly in the air conditioned bar , seafood, chicken and veggies to fill our hungry bellies.
Its tough for some people and thought that they have to see just how hard it is for themselves
And as its now 1015 IST , I think they may of suffered

Yet another one

Hello says Mrs back in blighty now and what a busy week it was in India
Gym, shopping, eating out , more shopping and gym again followed by nails , shopping and gym and a bit more eating, dinner in the Raddison, more gym and nails , face massage , eyebrows plucked and a few more pluckings.
Just where does it stop this hectic life

Mr
left in India to earn the groats.

Leftover dinners in the tupperware boxes to make life easy.

For those that don't know Mr B, he is one of these new age travelers who is planning his journey to the islands soon to hug a barrel.
xxx gottles of Islay's finest after the angels share 2-3% he's told.
His has got the three numbers and honest, not yet into counting "days" as still on "years" to wait.
Meanwhile he is keeping a close eye via the webcam on his maturing barrel of 56% ish, non chill filtered.

Anyone goes near it and its an instant call to the distillery and the local constable to "nab the blaggers" as they would say in Delhi.

Apparently its lots of water on this one when it hits the whisky glass.
Well that will be better than the diet coke in blenders pride .
Now thats a party everyone will want an invite too, he just has to think of a decent name to decorate the bottles with.
Decent Whisky?
Mine's a half?
The long wait?
Nippie Sweetie?

Nothing much has happened to it yet apart from letting it take all the taste out of the barrel as seen on the webcams, you can check it out on yourself http://www.bruichladdich.com/

There is also another mixed case maturing that carries a bit of a health warning

Quadruple Distilled

In March 2006 the first ever Quadruple distilled single malt was made at 90% alcohol.X4 - PERILOUS WHISKY - A legendary quadruple distillation - usquebaugh-baul is the highest strength single malt spirit ever. From the oldest tasting note by Martin Martin in 1695: "…the first taste affects all the members of the body: two spoonfuls of this last liquor is a sufficient dose; and if any man should exceed this, it would presently stop his breath, and endanger his life.”.

So thats at least 2014, before the "teaspoon or a lot of water and a splash of this stuff party"
They used to call drinking sippers in the Navy , so it will be one of those parties

Where's Islay you ask, look up a map and find out yourself !
Do you want me to do all the work ?

On a last note and to make you smile
A VIP toilet here in India.

The Big party bus , oops Wedding transport

Hello Bloggers

Need some help on this one

What vehicle to pick for my daughters wedding?

Should it be a cool looking one from I want one of those ?

Maybye a trditional one in pink, very girlie for a Scotsman to get out of though

Or a love bug in pink, can have white too

Could even have the yank tank in pink or the flying squad for the rugged look
How about this just to let your hair get blown away , maybye not as again her dad's a scotsman and gets drafty in cornwall

Could of course go and save the planet by going green , even though these are red

Or perfect low cost solution to the big day , but with the hills around she might be late
Or how about one of these , although there normally is some natural pollutants
Well , any ideas out there in cyberland as there is just so much choice to spoil her with

Oh , its not one of these if you are thinking that Liz

Hello Bloggers

Well, well what have we here then , someone that got a little sleepy in Berlin by the looks of it , though it could be anywhere . I understand this was the first boys party in advance of the one in Cornwall . Just lucky your mates only took a photo as could of been worse.

An old but funny one on global warming
Mr Blender says it should be called
"Men, how to tell a ladies age without asking"
Mrs P is apparently only xx at the moment but he says sometimes she is at least xx.
Please check the persons pulse and other visible signs of life, if you are with someone who is 207, 107 or even ? .
Check you own if its 27

Meanwhile whats the weather like today here in Delhi, 97 degrees and 75% humidity
Cool compared to the past weeks

The rain is not as bad as middle england has suffered , but it has flooded the slum over the road, very windy and blew a few roofs away , this is why all the bricks and junk is on the roofs there to begin with.

Everyone just gets back on with life when the weather subsides.

Mrs Pimms getting ready for the trip home to finish all the last minute panic stuff for the big day Mr B has to wait a little while for that and fit a short trip to the USA to visit old friends in Seattle Picking up another shiny Boeing for spicejet this time.
But he will miss all the security checks for the Seattle to UK trip in a private jet.

Meanwhile life goes on with the friends and shopping trips for Mrs P. Out looking a jewelry , gold and diamonds and clothes and shoes , prescription , stuff , and, and, and, and .

Mr B did another rendition of the "dogs they had a party and a passionate nationalist song" the other night at a little swarrie, sorry management meeting just outside Delhi, well 1hr outside Delhi. He's now searching for whats next, any ideas ?

Decent Corner

Well still melting and moist out here in Delhi and at last we found a "decent corner" in India
What a good address to live at.

Went to a little swarry last night and poor Mrs Pimms had too much lemonade with her Pimms
Was awake half the night with heartburn.
Mr B slept through till late, as he had too much wine, not used to it anymore so go easy on him when he's back for the BIG party in Sept

Both been to lunch today at a friends house in Delhi , all the family joined in
Pure Veggie followed up with a cold Ice Cream coffee.

A selection of South and North Indian foods laid out on the bed .
Curd, Sprouting beans, Idli, Dhal , Rice, Kidney beans , Paneer, Pooris, oh and some sweets
All not too hot for Mrs P
A credit to the master cook for putting on a big spread at lunch .
We sat on the bed munching away, Mr B in the cross legged pose and Mrs P all streched out
Forgot the camera so next time maybye

The monkeys and street cow even came along to say hello.

Just how many people can sit on a motorbike ?
Now I know Mr B's Dad had 5 people , but he did have a sidecar for the longer trips
Legally 2
Dangerous 3
Getting very dangerous 4
Downright stupid 5
Well

Have found this on the web and following the windscreen picture just thought everyone should see, yep keep counting.

Rickshaws next , they are everywhere and carry everything
as a cheap means of delivering anything

Found them all at a decent corner with a bit of surfing

Edinburgh Rickshaw for carrying people on thier own sofa

Delivery Rickshaw for covered or uncovered goods

What to do with your Children Rickshaw?
Actually its the school busshaw

Well thats it from us on this update

Namaste to you all.

Getting thinner and fitter

Hello Bloggers

Well I would never of thought that India would do us so good

PS: This is not Mr B or the gym instructor as I know what you are thinking
Mr B says he knows a few people like this though , perhaps you do 2
Just post who you think, as long as they never read this.

Been keeping track of this losing weight lark since we arrived last week it feels like
Well everyone has a goal to aim for after all

Start of the adventure
Mrs P = xx kgs, now a slimmer version at yykgs , how nice not to mention a figure says Mr B
Mr B = 118 kgs and just where have that 20kgs gone, some things have stayed the same though? He has to work on the six pack as only got a two pack at the moment

Well , just how do people do it
Delhi Belhi had a little play at the start , just adjusting to the different foods and water ( bottled)
Next comes the heat and humidity that adjusts our appetite
Having breakfast has helped Mr B, gets him through to his lunch of two bananas and a breakfast bar , no jordans out here, have to make do with the 250rps for eight bars of whats left on the shelf
Swimming, a few lengths of the pool , well 30 to 40 but its a small pool.
PSP, its the only golf game Mr B gets out here, well he reckons it keeps his fingers and thumbs fit !!!!
And last , the hard man in the gym, where would we be without Kristian
Now we both agree that having someone push you definately helps and our man certainly does that, he even does the strechie stuff and causes more pain whilst he does it
Dont think India has heard such screams and ohs and ahs from two gora's before as they all have a little giggle .
We do get the occasional "very strong Mary and Mr Neil" to make up for it .
Nothing compared to the weight he lifts , one day says Mr B, as his weights are increasing.
Hard man told Mrs P off today as she is not regular , missed a day , how guilty she feels!!!
Mr B wondering if the bribe was sufficient just to make her work extra hard before the trip home , he he

Mr B now on a mission, 3 kgs off in six weeks , not as easy as it sounds as only been managing 1kg every couple of weeks after reaching the magic 100
7kg to target and 14kg to the lower end of that , maybye next year but still proud of where he has got to and feels 110% better for it. You will have to try it out one day yourself

Lack of good bread for poor Mrs P helped , although we have just found out they sell it in the supermarket , Spencers in Gurgaon.
Bacon is not worth having so stopped buying it
No Beef apart from when we visit the expensive hotels when the urges get too much

We both seem to like the Indian Veggie places much better as very tasty compared with the stuff a UK person would call "Indian Meal ". Dosas , Thali , yum yum.
Now this would get the UK veggie brigade many points if they were to advertise it instead of soya yuck stuff

Still have chicken once or twice a week and to spoil ourselves, even bought it from the market butcher with doubts but we were ok afterwards , just cook it very well I say
Once a week Pizza delivery ,Hot pepper passion for Mr B and a Spring Fling for Mrs P.
No washing up for the housekeeper and Mr B takes the leftovers down for the guard , normally 4 slices and a couple of peppers left.
I think they know to expect it when Papa Johns deliver to F 603
Just keep wondering how many people just throw it in the bin?

Waste not want not out here in Delhi

Despite the trash everywhere, everything we throw out is recyled.
Housekeeper takes the bottles and papers and gets a few rps for them, food waste goes in a different bag to drop down the chute , cardboard is out with the papers.
Cockroaches clean up the kitchen, and the ghecko cleans up the cockroaches , seem to come out the sink drain, despite all we try .
Books, and we do lots of them here, are swapped, given away and borrowed in return , they are cheap here so don't bring any when you visit

Even saw a little snake tonight that thought would be useful in cleaning up the things but let it go as Mrs P might object

Well ramblings of the night over and have some bloggie stats for you all
60% of blogger readers to this site are from the UK
30% from India , all Delhi
9% from America
1% rest of Europe

Big Brother is watching you and please comment and flame as you know you want to

Ello blogger readers

Well
Nobody believe in black cats and walking under ladders today?
Nothing out of the usual has happened to us at least but we are sure the it will in the gym tomorrow, evil man he is who makes us work very hard

Still scorchio at a cool 91 today , temp we can manage its just the humidity at 84%
Mr B is just a puddle by the time the lift reaches the bottom floor , come to think of it so is Mrs P

Good alticle in the paper last week , a demo form a girl in her undergarments, shock and awe for the people round Delhi but it is a conservative society so understand that.

Mrs P is taking up with a bit more culture , visited a friends house and had tea and stickies and had to try the cross leg sit down on the bed , yep the bed she said. Sort of a BIG settee in an Indian house .
She only went for a shopping trip in Chandi Chowk, cycle rickshaw in the rain and two meals later. A very good experience of local culture everyone should taste
Indians are very friendly to the right ex pats out here, we are doing our bit in rtn by inviting some to see the western world , well middle england and a little of the cornish coast.
What will they think of cars only going one way and pedestrian crossings , mmm such an organised world

Ok a picture on just how popular soaps are out here during the
monsoon Please note Mr Indian is not a compulsive soap watcher , how usual is that.

That brings me onto TV , out here two film channels , BBC news , discovery, a couple of nature channels and VH1 for musac . Add, DVD's at £4 a shot and CD's ( Hindi music ) at £2 a CD, the wonderful internet with tv , myspace, youtube and radio what more could you want to be connected with the modern world.
BBC three counties has featured us a few times in the phone ins ,
Well they did ask where we did it and had to answer , in the ,computer room, living room , bedroom, bathroom, kitchen , hall, lift and in the car , listening to the radio all the time.
Well what were you thinking???
Its a small world people, and you just have to join in.

Well signing off with a funny just for you readers before our
300rps meal tomorrow , any potential hanibal's out there for item no 4 .
I dont think we fancy and not even sure if we wish to see it on the next table !!!

The final countdown

Hello

Well counting down to the BIG day out.
Little Miss Pimms & Mr Paul tie a knot or two
Will be Such a good day

All this organising that has to be paid for by Mr Blenders is erroding away the bank account so donations would be greatly received.
Global warming is definately taking place in his account, its so hot
Never mind its only money

Just got to make sure the Pimms and Blenders are being served
for the one or two that will be coming along. Nice venue in Cornwall, right by the sea and we have the games on the lawn.
Well we will have to keep up with the staying fit or we will be in mortal pain when we get back out here.

Menu all sorted with plain old veggie or fish for the mains, pasties and the odd or two, glass of mead.

Quiet week and a lavish spend for lunch on Sunday at TGI Fridays.

Mr B also managed to catch a severe case of "Man Flue" as only men can catch and had to retire early most nights with drugs supplied by the local chemist.
Now there is a bonus to this drugs thing out here. Mrs Pimms asks for whatever, by its weird name and a man climbs the ladder in the chemist, to hunt out in the ice cream tubs upstairs . Once found, he lobs it expertly to the catcher below and they make the sale
Oh lets see now was that 20rps or 25rps a packet of these and the expensive ones are 300rps for 3 lots of a months supply. No Pharmacy person on site , just managers to practice their cricket throwing and catching. No wonder Indian's are good at their national sport, they use whatever they can to practice and on.
Now what would that be at home? 3 prescriptions and a few more £'s for the other stuff.
Have to move back to scotland where its free I understand

How about this for an inspiration to change, humour is alive and well in this blogalot.
One to save for the right moment as a fine little saying.

Another low cost airline is hitting the Indian skys , Kerela Airlines
advert , looks interesting, full service carrier, but doubt they will
be able to pick too many passengers off the competition , wonder
if its veg or non veg on the menu, bound to be a few dossa's and
a nice Thaili.
Apparently Hooch is served before you fly due to the coconuts
rolling around too much when they are discarded and
blocking the toilets.

Meanwhile low cost is really catching on in a different way with the Aircraft going right into town to pick up passengers, beats a limo eh!
Only takes another 3 months to get it back in a flight condition
so no threat there to the trains or the planes

They are currently trying to find the three rickshaw wallers
that ran off leaving it outside a row of shops somewhere in
Bombay.

A moist July 1st

Hello blog readers

The king of the road, just for somemone in Sage Close
Just like BMW you have to pay for all the extras
Wingmirrors, aircon, radio, power brake , traffic Police? ......................
You can have the curtains made very cheaply if thats your taste in cars .
1500 cc's of pure nostalga that suits the roads out here

July is just the same a June
Moist!!!
Been out for the habit forming weekend lunch, Mr Blender spent all of 24orps this time , but there was 3 of us so I guess that's why. Dosa's and a coke each
Never seen these in the UK , all veg of course as that's whats on most of the memu's

Not a great deal happening as we get into the slide of life out here
Usual , manicure, pedicure , fitness visits at the gym, pool and a little bit of shopping, oh and lets not forget the coffee mornings. Pretty tough life in the heat
Mr B's cooking skills are coming along nicely, with not too mean curry's, chippatis and Dhal all mastered. Not too mean as he has to take it easy on the chillie powder for Mrs P's tastes .

The local downstairs veg man gets a visit most nights for fresh supplies

Meanwhile , plans ongoing on baby Pimms big day out in Sept.
The speech writing has managed to cut it down to a mere 15mins so a little way to go, what can I leave out now.

All for the noo
