New life , new job , old garden

Well hello bloggers

An update since its been a long time

Back in the routine of commuter life and Pimms lady going to the gym

Taken a while to get the garden back into shape with it being ignored for soooooo long it seemed

Another year and it will be back to its usual shape

Chillies were a success last year so even hotter stuff being produced for this

Well where has Mr Blender been this year and last

Started , if you remember in the Seychelles and was time to get back to the UK for us both so he now works in the BIG city in the UK

But

Trips to see Aircraft and people in lots of places

Beirut- Lovely people and food

Madrid - Great People and food

Lisbon- Good people and food, yep you know what it looks like , dont you

Budapest- Good people and , yep food ok , been before

France - brill food and people but they cant do curry

Lagos - Good people and more good people and too much work and not much food so have learnt to pack my goddie bag for the next trip there

Zurich- Again , yep people and food . Actually pretty good people and nice to see old friends

Chester, Norwich, Southend and London there is time to eat and more old friends

Yep there he was and have to cut down on this food bit for a change as not good for you but the people around this small industry are always good to see

Now the fun bit

Was told this by an old friend and used on my son when he was in that awkward stage

"as an outsider to the human race just what do you think of the human race?"

the reaction was priceless as he thought did he just hear that and then smiled

Life as we know it

Ello again or for the first time here's Bella!

Ello again from paradise

Well whats up as they say here

Nothing is , life goes on and on and on and on

Work, nails, stuff and beach and more of the same

Weathers nice between the showers

Mr Blenders manages to grow the hottest chillies he has ever managed to grow and boy are they popular with the locals

Mrs Pimms does he stich and bitch club along with hunter gathering once a week for essential provisions

Hunter gathering now thats a little bit different here in the Seychelles

Is much better than it used to be as always managed to find milk, butter, eggs and loads of fish but not in the same way as going to Tesco's for the wekly shop

Mr General Store is the thing here , just like in the 60's & 70's in blighty , well the northern end as thats where we both lived , one a little further north than the other

Mr Blenders even worked in one for a time , well cleaned the windows and painted the place , also read the papers and even sold stuff over the counter

Mrs Pimms mum & dad also had a little shop , not for generals though it was newsagent so guess thats what led her into retail.

Meanwhile what exciting things are happening

Meet Miss Seycehelles of the canine variety
Bella , the Seychelles Cocker Spaniel , she is a little bit bigger now but still melts hearts, aahh
Loves swimming ( nearly) , chasing and slippers and would like to meet similar 4 legged friends for dinner and a play around the garden.
She does have another 3 brothers and a sister on the Island along with about 5 other relatives and has her blood line from eastern europe , so well traveleled but limited family in the Indian Ocean
She will become a french citizen when we finish here and she should be able to bark in multiple languages. creole, french and scotlish.
Will provide more piccies if you ask
Cheers
Mr Blender & Mrs Pimms

Hello Again

Well , well thick and fast at the moment these postings

In the middle of winter here , well its cooler at night by a few degrees but it does have its problems

Bats or Flying foxes , the fruit type have moved down the mountain to join us in song at night time

The must always migrate downwards here for winter , well for a cooler bit of fruit , but they always manage to pick the ripest paw paw outside the bedroom window every night .
Thats our breakfast not thiers !!!
A very very loud screeching noise as they demolish our breakfast at around 10 O'Clock every night
They are a protected species here and a good job too as I understand.
They were once made into a delicious curry , needed two apparently but think the wings must of been a little tough , probably like some of the leaves in todays curry's on the Island
Well its only an hour till they start so time for bed

Bonjour

Bonjour blogits

Well another day anther post

Thought I would talk about our blighty politics today as it still in the press
Well after all the weather here is still the same , sun , sun , sun

I am just surprised that more people didnt know their elected representatives were out there lining thier pockets with a system that was a little secret
Yippe for freedom of information is what I say.
Morals and a little common sense has told me on my company expence claims to never , ever claim for things that are a little bit out of the ordinary

Thats it for politics as it can be the same in business ?

Meanwhile

Poor little Bee joined the food chain today in the garden
1 Lac of ants chased it around the grass as it was a little bit out of it
Will let you readers outside India find out what a lac is
It eventually succumbed to the mass and fed an ever growing population

Time for the man whit the lance and tank on his back Mr Blender thinks

But there again they do walk off with the cockroaches
Nature in the Seychelles

A restful day in the garden today, well it has all the sights
Even had reggie music blasting out from afar , sounded nearer than that but apparently thats a seychelles thing to play your music so everyone hears

Car cleaned by the landadies son and a cousin for some pocket money
Apparently will have a polish next weekend as the shampoo ran out and they tried to use the polish but told me it was no good at washing the car
It looks great after the car valet visit, sparkles in the sun
Ok I know its little, but out here its just the thing
Oh and its part of the contract , well apart from the petrol that is

Bit different form the one in our garage
You have to look at an earlier post for that though ?
Did think of shipping it out here but the import taxes have put a stop to it

This ones only done 5k km in 8 months
All the expats have an identical car though some are auto's and crap for the small hills/Mountain passes on the island
It looks like the italian job through the streets when we all meet up
Oh and we have red plates , goverment vehicle
We also have a 5 year Seychelles driving licence and that might come in handy for the uk

Why you might ask

Well Mr Blenders once had a Manx licence and the worst thing ever happened
He was stopped by a white car with a blue light flashing above it
Now the car at the time did have manx plates
The officers were very confused and gave him a severe telling off , ouch he says
Was very severe , near on full severity with hanging as the least he would get away with
Bit better than the £60 and 3 points for doing 37 in a 30 zone at 6am he says

Which brings up another little story
One of the guys here was caught speeding and had to go to court for the sentence
Not once , but twice
First time , lines up with all the crooks on the Island and eventually gets called behind the glass screen
Now thats is sufficently scary for anyone
The prosicuter then reads out his name , address and inside leg measurement for all the jury and the miscreants to hear
He makes his plea , Guilty and is told to come back for sentence

Mr Blender did manage to get a letter in french to him that asked him to pick his sentence

  • Community service for two months
  • Preparing fish for 2 months
  • Two years in prison
Even had a goverment seal on the letter
Well its a laugh so we had to do it

He went back for the second court appearance and his choice was
  • Two Years in prison , mm how much weight did he need to lose
  • 1500 srp , about £60

The world must be the same

Splice the mainbrace matey's

A little trip in the evening to relax and unwind
Well Mrs Pims had arranged it with her glue and glitter friends and so why not

It all starts out in a long ( by Island standards) drive , well 30 minutes is a long drive here

Followed up by a little boat to reach the "Sea Pearl"

Nice early 1900;s herring schooner or something like that and it was nice to know that all the smell has gone away.

The Skipper , a Mancunian welcomed all 40 people onboard in sixes and got on with the usual safety brief.

"This bits the hard stuff and over the rails it the soft stuff thats also very wet" and all the usual important things we need to know like where the bar is and the Heads?

So a leisurly cruise with motor on and a couple of sails as not much wind

Dolphins in Beau Vallon bay playing near the beach , tourists swimming , loads of fish darting about all over the place, a brill sunset, good food, excellent company and a few little drinkies from the onboard bar . Mrs Pimms even found the heads

All in all, a trip we will be on again , a venue for the 4 O'Clockers club?
Well with sunsets like this , its a must

Bon Voyage

Hello Gecko's

Well hello bloggers and what are we on this post ? 1 foot to start with and a glodetreking Gecko that has somehow managed to avoid immigration, customs, vat, Duck houses on lakes , paying for a flight ticket , swine flu, air miles and all the rest

Where did this journey start and end ?

Well it all started as life on a tropical Island in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

Night in Night out, I had my fill of a multiple diet of Mossies, fly's and the occasional other treat

Eeck, eeck, Chit, chat

I managed to smuggle himself into some of our visitors bags all the way from the there and land myself in some place called the United Kingdom , well I peeked on the way through the airport , who wouldn't when you have just spent 12 hours in a dark, hot then cold nightmare. Yep a nightmare , couldnt breath, sleep and no water for 12 hours

Still the mossies were all falling in my lap so can't be that bad being like a bird

After a brief holiday , I have now taken residence in a retreat for global Gecko's

Not a bad place by all accounts and hopefully will be able to get a piccie and update you all on the blog

Any takers out there ? Piccie takers that is
The rest of the tribe here are an ok bunch

My name is George and I am your friendly "inside" Gecko , not the common or garden house type like my mate here "grengo" , a relative somewhere on the planet and one of my cousins

A little shy I am , well thats why I only come out at night but now I have journeyed in search of my global friends
Thought I might update you all with my search for them in another world !

I had it up to my front feet at the last place with the constant comings and goings.
All those noisy parties , strangers disturbing my feasting , noises at night when it all went dark and the people were in bed
Do they know my eyesight is 300% better than thiers at night ?
My girlfriend "Grettar" had recently left me after the man with the running water bottle had visited the place?
The mossies tasted funny after that and I had to go
ek , ek ek Chit Chat!!

So I had came up with an elaborate plan , a cuning plan to escape to another world
Heard that on the box in the big room and thought its a neat phrase, still sounds lie eek eek chit chat to everyone else , but I know what I say

Would I meet my friends again on this adventure ?

Geronimo - he featured in a book by my favourite author Gerald Durrel

Stevie from Madagascer , now he's pretty close to where I was but not got a clue where I've ended up as the map is so small ? Help me ?

Gex , his picture is the first one and a cool guy , my idol and one day I will get his paw print

Treeco from Pokemon fame , I need a picture as the last one was apparently used by the local Glue and Glitter club , who knows what that is, just heard it in my last home ?

Metal Gear Gecko from fallout two, a great game I have watched the tall shorthaired one worshiping in the dark , well he stares at the screen and all things seem to dance around disturbing my feast , I need to run around too much to catch those mossies

And last but not least , the love of my life Greetar the Gecko , oh where are you , Chit Chat, eeck eeck
Have already found a few people to look for and if you happen to know where they are then let me know
thats my hero
I left for last , isnt she a real charmer and she can chit chat like no other
She's the first on he left

The top ten

Beau Vallon
This beach is located on the island of Mahé on the northern side, and is one of the more popular beaches on Mahé. This long and sandy beach has magnificent views of North Island and Silhouette. There are various diving and water sport centers as well a Teddy's Glass Bottom Boat Tours.
Anse Royale
Near to where we live
This beach is the longest on Mahé and it provides beaches protected from choppy seas, providing a safe and comfortable swimming haven. This makes for very favorable conditions for swimming and beach fun from May to October.
Intendance Beach
This is a very wide beach, which provides huge swells that are favored by surfers. Multi-directional currents can make swimming a little challenging at times but the Banyan Tree Resort will notify swimmers of dangerous conditions with signal flags. Anse Intendance is one of the spots that turtles still nest.
Anse Cimitiere
Cimitiere is a very hidden beach and is quite hidden. Monsoon season is from May to October and is a time of large waves and dangerous surf. There are a few natural swimming pools created by protecting rocks on the beach. If you are looking for a nice change there is the inland forest that can be explored by horses from the Riding Centre Utegangar.
Port Launay
This is one of the most beautiful beaches on Mahé and is located on the west side of the island. This beach will have the largest population of beach goers on weekends. Swimming is great here and the beach is very well maintained.
Anse Georgette
Rated as one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world, Anse Georgette is located on the island of Praslin. Only accessible by boat the beach offers the luxury of the Lemuria Resort. This is a favorite of Honeymooners because of the intimacy of the private beach.
Anse Bois de Rose
This beach is known for its fishing and there is a great spot for swimming located next to the hotel Coco de Mer.
Anse Source D'Argent One of the most popular beaches in the Seychelles. Huge granite boulders separate it from Anse Lazio and make this a hotspot for filming and photography. The beach is a favorite for magazines as well as some well known television holiday programs.
Anse Bamboos
Located on the island of Frégate, Anse Bamboos has the main hotel on the island. It boasts some currents, however these are not too dangerous to swimmers and there is a lifeguard stationed here for safety precautions. Sun chairs with large shade umbrellas line the beach for your comfort.
Anse d'Est
Anse d'Est is located on the east side of North Island and this is where large coral beds are located just off the beach. The North Island Lodge has a pool, restaurant, library and a diving center.

But we wont tell you our favourite thats not listed here
Sun, sea and grilled fresh fish for tea

Hello Bloggerwaa

A perfect title for a paradise Island
Well where have we been to stay away before
Yep the stress of life and living has finally gone , forever if we stay here

No more calls at 3am , work at 5 am and all the politics to hoot

This is a chill out place , but has its little bits of "this is difficult "

Work wise for Mr Blenders or should he change his name now he's changed his residence?
Takayaka is the local or perhaps the barrel boy with his Bruichladdich should be the one ?

You decide and a bottle for the top decider

Well in 4 years time that is ?

Thinking of using this as a blog improvement but cant decide how yet. Just have a look at some earlier ones for where the barrel boy gets his ideas

Any help appreciated
Work is good , well it been done before so its just finding out what is important and whats not to manage the daily routine , Much like anywhere but here the people are nice with it
Rest and recuperation are good for Mrs Pimms with nails and face mangles /Massage . She does look good , wel she always does
Its all important to him but drops or pauses with many of these things as they gather a little less in the scheme of things out on this flightdeck in the Indian Ocean , well why not ?

Meanwhile , we went away again at the weekend for a relaxing , chilled day away off the island and onto another island , thanks Katherine for the help and assistance you always give to your resort

St Anne is a really good place to pay a day visit if you are a well to do local or a tourist

You can have to 10 Euro Cheesecake and pretend its a pulp fiction moment . Just need the right women and Mr Takamaka had her with him right there ?

No drugs though as they are bad for you , honest they are ! Are you people reading I hope so ? You know who you are
Swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing , oops we both have red noses and are much lighter in euros as you need them here

Till the next time on St Anne, but sorry its Serf next
Meanwhile

A few pictures have been requested on e-mail of just what our paradise home is like?

Its err , well , sort of , just like , living in the jungle. But we do have a sea view if you stand 6 ft tall and peek between the overgrown Jungle
I have cheated and this is off the long sweeping drive down to the house . 2 minutes to the sea from the jumgle , well what a surprise I say?

This is the view from the drive down

Banana trees have just been picked so missed them off , any one want some ?

Bananas that is , really yummy and not to the euro standard so even better than you can imagine

Our House in the middle of the jungle , our house in the middle of the jungle , our house.........

Well you can sing it alnong to madness if you like

Hi

Hi from Paradise

I the swing of this now so whats new

Life goes on with many little challenges at work and at play

The play is always good and last weekend was up to a friends house with the rest of the ex-pats for pot luck supper and a beer or two

Pot luck is pretty good in that everyone brings a dish of something along that they would like to eat and we all dig in

Mr Blender cooked egg curry and chipaties as our supper , yum yum and not too hot

Lots of pasta and a real nice chocolate cheesecake

Thanks for Mr Spike on the arrangements and allowing Mrs Pimms a nightime plung in the pool to get over being moist, makes her positively dripping though!

Aha the wee company car , this time we took a taxi as there is a little hill there that the wee car parked at the bottom of one night. Well he took the first left and not the second Doh! Gods sunshine was making everything a little damp under tyres and after several minutes of spinning white tyre smoke thought it better stay where it is . That and a minor issue of slipping backwards whilst trying to go upwards and forwards . In the DARK when you just dont know if its a sheer drop behind you . mmm time to phone a friend ( Spike) and say hello mate , guess what ?

We both went back the next day and with a run at the hill the poor wee car managed to spin to the top . Must of been the Go kart driving skills that kept it going. So always a taxi in the dark to Mr Spikes and think it may need new tyres sometime soon

Hello

Well Hi then bloggites

What a busy week its been
Have to ask the question as to why is it ?
In the Seychelles its a pretty laid back lifestyle , things happen at thier own pace
Sun comes up , sun goes down, beaches , snorkelling and facials for Mrs Pimms
But

Yes But ????????????????????????????????????????????

Time seems to accererate as far as the days are concerned
Quicker than we can ever remember

Are we too busy?

No

Do we try to do too much?

No

Now how come you can have the relaxed lifestyle and time speeds up ?
Any help appreciated in answering this toublesome question ?

And why oh why are weekends too short
But then that happens everywhere , doesn't it ?

Meanwhile
Mr Blender has been to his nightmare , the dentist
Scary , scary stuff for him
Apart from the time he took a helicopter engine down to sit in the dentists chair that is
Well , where else do you get a diamond tipped drill to make a hole in a bolt that you can then get an easyout in to remove it
Ok you need to know what an easyout is , ask the outside plumbing readers if you have inside plumbing.
Oops sexist , sorry
Oh , it was mid atlantic at the time on the back of a BIG grey and her majesties ship, so you have to think of all ways to fix a problem
Much like in the Indian Ocean

Bye , have to think of the creole word as Bonsoir to me is not the right one i am sure

20 May 2009

Bonjour

Well Bonjour from Paradise

Word of the ex-pat is "moist" , it has been since we arrived in paradise.
Been like that ever since we landed here, but its nice now that the monsoon has arrived and its got much cooler .
29 instead of 30, a notable difference we would say?

D & C had a laugh about being moist when they visited and we continue to do so now

So thats the word for Paradise

Meanwhile, onto the conversation at lunch, which is always pretty good.
The conversation that is , not the sun dried cardboard cheese sandwich
It is helped by the low flying one toe pigeons that fly around the airport cafe

Tip number one: in Seychelles Airport outdoor cafe
Never , that is never leave your food on the table to go back and get your knife and fork
An immediate squadron of one toed pigeons will form up and proceed to do a kamakazi dive for the target feast
Mayhem occurs where the newest of the formation , with a full suite of toes normally leaves the table minus at least one
A food riot as the feast is devoured along with any toes that get in the way.

Tip Number Two - much the same as Number one
Never , that is never place that nice cake you bought on the next table and then turn your back on it to speak to your fellow workers and best mates !
They will always keep you talking whist watching the "cake busters" attack behind you.
Normally you can tell something is up, by the tune everyone starts to hum
It is also very hard for them to talk to you whilst humming as a disguise to suppressing giggles

All hell breaks loose when you have the moment where you think?

Yum, yum time for that delicious piece of home baked cake, arhhh!!!!!
Poor little one toes pigeons to call them names like that ?

And

One of the expats returned on Monday after a wee trip back to the windy , wet weather of blighty
Unfortunatley for him he appears to have put on a little lard and as you do, we have to ask what he's been eating.
Normal food it is
Kentuky , Macdonalds, Pizza , warm beer , Fish and chips , chinese and Indian takeaway's , drool, drool , drool after the cardboard Tuna sandwith, well its at least a bit moist.
He did say that we could have a peek at his naughty magazines to see ourselves

So we all think of whats on page three and where will the stables be in the middle spread.?Moulles and frites, Roast Lamb, never mind the butter , fresh milk and chocolate
Its the porn equal on the island , good cooking magazine that is.
Drool , drool , drool. Makes us all moist

But there again where can you sit by the beach, at night with your feet on the sand and get this whole grilled fish, frites, salad and croele sauce for under £8?

Bye

Hello

Hello readers , or "is there anybody out there "

Pink Floyd the Wall , thanks for that

Well still Paradise Island lingers on although Mr B is busy, busy at work and enjoying every minute . Well its all been done before so no reason to get stressed and even had time for the Andy W picture
We have had a Jack Fruit delivered by the young lad who is an ex gardener , apparently never did much gardening hence ex gardener. \Now have a policeman when he finishes his day job.

Now we have never seen a fruit soo big , they are massive , oh boy these are the big ones , so large amd gigantic are these fruit , a fruit of enormous proportions that we thought we had many meals to feast on
Oh and Mr B was very confused as to what the thing was ?
Left it on the table outside and two days later decided to get the very BIG knife out and see what we have .
I think thats why the internet was invented to let you find out what to do but unfortunately this time he didn't look anything up . Mistake , yep

Jackfruit have very , very sticky sap inside and the knife soon got covered in goo, along with Mr B's fingers as he wiped the knife as it was chopped in two . Gifted it to the landlady, why we ask now we have seen what we could have had ?

The smell is disgusting and put both of us off trying it so maybye next time as now know what it is thanks to the internet

A cross between banana and pineapple it says , yum yum

Now where is the ex gardener as he has a mission

Meanwhile

Ex pat 4 Oclock club is building up to its next event , well when abroad you just need to visit the stuff you can never afford , dreams are ok though?

Last one was a little confusing as pints of seybrew go down at the same rate as bottles, oops hickup , slurred words and all the rest that happens when inebriated . Next time will have to go a little slower . Moving venue for the next one to go more local
Even suggesting we invite an ex pat family each
Should be fun and gets the ex pats mixing much , cheap place for here and may even have arranged a happy hour if my contacts are true to thier word
Not quite the same as the Caledoinian Society in Delhi but who knows when you make the effort
Bonsoir

Hi Readers its been a while

Hello readers , at last a new post !!

The Girls attired for the Beach , well on the Beach actually and what a nice view the boys had , more of that later

Well there is so much beach to do that we have just been to laid out to bother !!
So what have we been up to you may ask ?

Toddy, beach, toddy, boats, toddy and more beach and toddy!

Have had all the instruction from the landlady on what to do with the coconut trees in the garden , just not yet managed to climb up to tap into the fresh leaf,so end up down some remote road to pick up a bottle and try someone's brew .
Nearly brought a stray doggie back last time and that's just smelling the brew!

Very nice, the brew that is, a cross between wine and cider and when its fresh not too strong we are told
Has to be cold , as the coconuts the gardener brings are too warm to drink and the heat makes Mrs Pimms too moist so she needs a cold drink or two

Island life is pretty laid back in the airline world , at the moment . Usual stuff thats been seen before so Mr Blenders enjoys his mentoring of the team.
There is a view to die for from the office so he keeps pinching himself to make sure its not a dream

Meanwhile
A few little things have been noticed on the Island that raise a smile

  • The Ladies dry their knickers on the bush , yep honest on the bush and Mr Blenders is too scared to take the piccie as might be fingered as a perv.
  • Only two signs have been noticed pointing out an incline in the road , either side of the bridge on the 3km dual carriageway. Now Mr Blenders did have to leave his car at the bottom of a hill one night and get a lift home as it started raining and the car could not get up the hill. He did get it next day but still the tyres threw white smoke everywhere as they spin getting up the hill , a long run was apparently needed
  • Moistness is all over the body , always moist , shopping, sitting, cooking, eating and we are talking about being totaly moist from the top to your bottom and your front bottom if you are Mrs Pimms , oops
  • The easiest way to catch a fish Mr Blenders has found is off the fence on the drive home , does cost 150srps ( about 6UKP) but its cheaper than the 1000 for the share on hiring a boat for 4 hrs and you do get a very very large red snapper to put on the BBQ for that
  • It rains , well it is the tropics and the Island is green
  • You cannot buy a sailing baot under 30ft or 50k Euros , boo. Mr Belnders keeps trying

That will do as tasters of what is to come in the next posts

Even more Meanwhile what about the piccies you ask?

Well we are very lucky to have a landlady who has a boyfriend( Micky) with a nice Boat and we went all around the Island with Mr DC and K who just happened to be our virgin visiters

Was funny to have the picnic at Beau Vallon bay , Fresh baked bread in the machine, cheese and ham from the UK and homemade starfruit chutney ( Mr Blenders recipe ) , Seychelles curry and salad from the landlady and we just seemed to swap foods, curry was yummy and everyone was so polite , never too much .

Zebra fish to finish off our leftovers

Good people we landed with here

All around the Island started in the lorry at 11am , we did do the titanic down the road and enjoyed the smiling faces as they saw the "gorras" in the back of the truck

After a brief robinson Crusioe hour when we were left on the beach on Cerf, weed in one of the engines , off we went again.

Got back after a few stops, lunch and beach swims at 7pm , oh and some toddy , well Seybrew , wine , G&T and whatever.

A fantasic day with fantastic people

There will be more but to moist to continue

Bye for now

13 Jan 2009

Wello again

Yep we are back in cyberland

Welcome readers

Now what to talk about?
Work, get lost, no way , never , a rude word , NOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

The weather
Yep

Well you know Mr Blender was into growing things in old blighty and he has found his dream in the Seychelles
Plant a chilli seed on sunday , cover with a clear yughurt pot and hew presto by tuesday we have a little bud formed , pure magic this sunshine
Oh we also have lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, beans, courgettes and when more seeds arrive from the next vist home some other stuff?

Well why not as the veg is getting expensive here £8 for a coli we paid , ouch
The fish is cheap though and still not managed to get on the fishing trip to catch any

Hows the rest of life you may ask
Bugs bite like mad at night , Mrs Pimms legs are like a join the dots page , well she keeps scratching so they never heal , Mr Blenders is very tanned all over , well apart from the whaite bits

Life has a new easy feeling about it when you get rid of the frustrations , and as always when abroad a brit has them , but chill and they go away

Whats the temp in the uk - 12 I have seen
Whats the temp here , well if you keep your cool , +25 to 30
If not you sweat alot

Namaste

22 Oct 2008

Hi Readers

Well hello from the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean

Been a while but hopefully will get back to the nce per week for anyone that is still reading

So what have we been up to and what hav we seen to chuckle here in the seychelles

Like the roadsigns , but more of them on another post as they deserve a picture

The general store(s), got to meet Mr General as he seems to have a global chain and wonder if he knows yet
Makes intresting browsing , now have you got any AA batteries please , nope will single A do?
Have joined a little import cash and carry off the island, well over a little bridge so we have become importers of all sorts of things for our personal use
Steak, potatoes, french cheese , all the stuff that you just cant get

The beach and Mr Blenders calls the sea his aquarium , why you may ask ?
Well when you visit all you need is a few slices of any bread and off you go to get wet in the warm sea.
Loads and loads of fish come swiming to take the crumbs out your hands , at least they are little fish, as having seen some of the ones being sold at the side of the road you would not want to feed them.

What about Mrs Pimms you ask
Well , daily routine is nearly there and a little bit different from India
Not many manicures, pedicures and very little ex-pay life ---YET

Tea in bed around 06:10- well Mr Blenders gets up to do that excercise thing at that time
Get up around 7:30 for breakfast - thats very early
Back to bed to read and eat breakfast - thats the same
Up at 10ish to spend an hour beating Mr Blenders scores on the Wii Fit
Surf a little between 11-12:00 to speak on msn or skpye to family and friends
Shower- 13:00
Read on the bed with the aircon on - 13:20 till 13:22
Get up - dont know when
Siesta - god knows how long

Namaste from the Indians here

5 Sept 2008

Allo Allo

Allo Allo from a rainy france

Yep it doea rain a little here but not as bad as blighty
Looks like similar stuff to India though as its not running away form the lawn yet
Nice big puddle outside

Well date set for the next job and we fly out in less than two weeks time, its raining there too but a little warmer

Meanwhile have a few managers tips
Managers tip number 1
A priest offered a lift to a Nun.
She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg.
The priest nearly had an accident.
After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg.
The nun said, “Father, remember Psalm 129?”The priest removed his hand.
But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again.
The nun once again said, “Father, remember Psalm 129?”
The priest apologized “Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.”
Arriving at the convent, the nun went on her way.
On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129.
It said, “Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.”
Moral of the story:
If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.

Managers tip number 2
A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp.
They rub it and a Genie comes out.
The Genie says, “I’ll give each of you just one wish.”“Me first! Me first!” says the admin. clerk.
“I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world” Poof! She’s gone.
“Me next! Me next!” says the sales rep. “I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.” Poof! He’s gone.
“OK, you’re up,” the Genie says to the manager.
The manager says, “I want those two back in the office after lunch.”
Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say.

Managers tip number 3
A crow was sitting on a tree, doing nothing all day.
A rabbit asked him, “Can I also sit like you and do nothing all day long?”
The crow answered: “Sure, why not.”
So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow, and rested.
A fox jumped on the rabbit and ate it.
Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very high up.

Managers tip number 4
A turkey was chatting with a bull.
“I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree,” sighed the turkey, but I haven’t got the energy.”
“Well, why don’t you nibble on my droppings?” replied the bull. “They’re packed with nutrients.”
The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found that it gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.
The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.
Finally after a fourth night, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree.
Soon he was spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.

Moral of the story: Bullshìt might get you to the top, but it won’t keep you there.

Mr and Mrs Blenders

19 Aug 2008

Hello from the uk

Well hello readers

Another long time between posts but catching up having worked hard with the pressie Mrs Pimms bought for for Mr Blenders

Been back in blighty using up Mr Blenders 90 day allowance to do some work on the house, oh and have a little interview thingy for the next adventure around the globe in this place , looks ok to Mrs Pimms

Back to the decorating first though and its getting the house all spruced up for daughter and husband to live a comfy life

Waiting for the builders quote is the usual story though. I am sure you are all aware

Phone up to arrange a visit to quote us happy for a couple of new power showers , heated chrome towel rails to replace the radiators , kitchen worktops in marble and the messy job of lifting all the stone tiles , leveling the floor and laying vinyl

Well still waiting but have been very busy with one skip , two bedrooms, three bathrooms and the living room/dining room, hall and stairs with lots of elbow grease to sand it all down, a lick of gloss and boring magnolia everywhere , well helps when we sell in years to come.

Had to move the large and very comfy sofas into the kitchen and join them all together
Mr blenders said it looked like an orgy sofa , mmm, and in the kitchen !!

Only have till the weekend then its back to France for about a week if we get offered the job

It does mean Mr Blenders won't get to play with his new boys toy for a while , so it can just sit in the garage for a change in UK weather

Bye --------------------------------eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

25 Jul 2008

Bonjour

well hello all

Been a long long time since the last post

well , finished with India thing and now settled in with france

Yep , always wanted a place over there but have to settle with the palace mobile home untill we decide if we like it or not
Even had to but a new car and drive it ourselves !!!!!
A French one of course , very sporty

Where in france are we?

Well wine, sunshine , oh and a little bit of rain now and again , wine is sold by the bucketfull, sea food to die for and a little castle in the village
We even went and bought the Wii fit to have a little fun
A nice place to sit out whilst Mr Blenders looks for the next adventure

Aha the french , well we have been in touch with them before and they are a little different , life takes on a little bit of a different pace and its good to see
Well short but sweet as have to put some suncream on the red bits !!
Bye

11 May 2008

Helloo

Well bike riders , oops readers

Been a while as the continued little power cuts fried the last ADSL modem we had and with all that travelling just didnt have time to sort it out

New one now though and its back to a normal surfers life

Well whats new in the far east

Work and play and more visits to the cruel gym man

Have had a busy few weeks travleing around , all for work this time though whilst Mrs Pimms travels around the UK doing the visits and spending the hard earned cash
Did manage to get to the Bullet shop yesterday and was told would be better to wait till next month for the new Thunderbird ,mmmm wonder how side saddle is for Mrs Pimms or perhaps I will get a chance to cruise out along the NH8 to the country on the odd Sunday on my ownsome
Lots of planning to see where to go
The new one has two spark plugs and not the thump thump as the old one
Well if you are going to by a classic then get a modern one
Meanwhile , Delhi heat is still here , 37,8,9 ties and a little bit of wet stuff thrown in today
Drys up in an hour which is more than can said about Mr Blenders after the gym , hard work this keep fit stuff
Fitness First is now due to open on the 21st of the month , wathed the other day as they craned all the fitness equipment up the the 5th floor , just below the 6th floor where the first Beer Garden in India is due to open. Now thats handy to replace all the liquids that we both work off?
Wondering if its Ompa bands , serving wenches and whole chicken ala Germany
Perhaps its Bollywood, waiters and pure veggies with it being India
Not yet found out the opening date for that , but we may have to go along just to try it out once or twice
namaste
